Should the animals who eat meat become vegetarians too and eat plants and grass?
I don’t see why humans shouldn’t eat meat when other animals do. Any wild animal that eats meat would attack and eat you in a second. So why is it so terrible for us?

Their bodies are designed to eat meat and only meat. Just like a horse couldn’t digest meat. Humans can digest both.

Because the wild animals don’t breed and raise them in horrid conditions, give them steriods, or drink their milk.

We don’t eat meat-eaters.
Oh no! A cow, chicken, and turkey are coming to eat me!

Humans are not carnivores and, more importantly, we have the capacity to choose.

A lot of animals don’t eat meat (herbivores). Humans are one of those animals.
Side note: Even "carnivores" eat plants and grass, not just what’s inside the prey’s intestines (which they eat 1st), but I’ve had cats that’ll eat banana, popcorn, and meatless pasta. (I’ll always remember that pasta incident.)

It is the WAY the meat corporations raise and handle the meats that is disgusting. If I was in an indian tribe, I would eat meat, because the way they killed it was natural…not disturbing.
Most vegetarians dont say, "Eating meat is bad." they say, "They way these animals are being tortured is nutso!"
No ones trying to break up the natural food chain.

Because horses, goats and humans can’t easily hunt down (without tools) a wild animal and it the whole thing without cooking it. But carnivores, like cats, can and do. They can’t eat plants.
There are loads of reasons to believe that humans are better adapted to eating meat than animals, but most herbivores could eat parts of cooked meat and carnivores can’t eat plants AT ALL.
Usually when my cat tries to eat my food, she just can’t. If she tries to eat too much, she vomits it out.

Ethical vegetarians argue that it is okay for wild animals to eat meat because they don’t have a choice and require it to survive, and they think that it is evil when Humans eat meat because they are able to choose to be vegetarians and survive. Some even claim that Humans are designed to be herbivores.
I tend to disagree with all that, just because Humans have the capacity to choose to become vegetarians doesn’t mean that it is worse for Humans to consume animals than for any other animal to do so, I think that it is the factory farming methods that are really ethically questionable.

1. Animals don’t fill the bodies of other animals with unnecessary hormones and antibiotics. They don’t store them in little cramped warehouses to choke on their own feces and die from the stress of the harsh living conditions.
2. Animals actually REQUIRE other animals to live, whereas we do not. Humans have the capabilities of digesting animals, but it’s a scientific fact that our bodies really weren’t designed to eat meat. That is why large amounts of consumed beef produce cancer.
The bottom line is, animals don’t kill for fun. They kill;they eat. It’s a natural process for them and an instinct. Humans sometimes (not always) kill for "fun" and treat animals like a broken toy.

How often do YOU attack your prey and tear the flesh from it’s bones? Animals dont have supermarkets with a department that packages their meat for them. It’s about survival and instinct. Do you REALLY think the meat you buy comes from prey that was hunted for you? The meat from the animals you buy never have a chance in hell.

how would you suggest we communicate with the animals, to tell them eating meat is bad? Hmmmm.
Practically no wild animal would attack and eat a human btw. Most only attack - and not eat - if you are a threat to them or their offspring.
edit:: there seem to be a lot of questions, today, about animals eating other animals being wrong, and we should tell them to eat vegetables instead. Has fright night come early or something? wtf!

Carnivorous animals need to eat meet to survive. Humans don’t, ergo, anytime a human eats meat, they are just killing things for their own enjoyment, whereas wild animals do it out of survival.

did you not pay attention in biology at all? ..animals like lions, tigers, crocodiles, wolves, ect. are carnivores not omnivores like we are. if a carnivore didnt eat meat they would die that is why we dont ‘preach’ to them. we dont have to eat meat to live..omnivore doesnt mean has to eat meat and plant. it means can eat meat and plant. carnivore means eat meat or maybe die.
also the fact that they dont mass produce their food and then kill it in a rather cruel and painful manner just to make as much money as possible helps..

Animals also fling poop and sniff crotches - should we do that too?
Carnivorous animals require meat for their well-being. Wild animals are limited to what they can hunt or find in their area. Humans can drive to the store and choose any number of things to eat.
I’m not one of those people who preaches that we shouldn’t eat meat. But I will preach about getting your facts straight.

This is the greatest question I have seen. Well done my friend. Well done!
Lets talk about those poor fish for a while, you know they love how they look on a platter.
Oh and how about those poor veggies. Bet they love being put in the ground with that lovely soil full of poop!
And of course our clothes..how do you think the poor sheep feel. Bet they would just love to keep all their hair.
(they miss the 70’s).
We all have different views, we are aloud ours.

If you go out and hunt and kill your meat with your bare hands, I won’t say a word when you eat it. If you buy it in the store, though? Do you really think the wild animals breed, confine, drug, and then kill an animal without giving it any shot at all at escaping or anything? No. They don’t. I figure they earn it.

Because there is no predator or disease process that keeps the human population down. We are far too numerous to be able to be supported on this planet by eating that high up on the food chain. The earth is suffering for it. Also, prey animals are free until the moment they are caught. They are not farmed and trucked around, fed cannibalistic diets and mistreated from birth to inhumane death.
But I have to tell you, while I assume you are about 13, this is a really stupid question. Educate yourself and then come back with a valid argument. This one is just pedantic.
If it is good enough for albert einstein, and many many many other great men and women in history then it is good enough for me.

Carnivores need meat, biologically. Animals who are omnivores react on instinct or the training of their elders.
We, however, are human. We have prefrontal cortexes, which allow us to think and reason. We can use these to figure out how to eat without meat. We also, unfortunately, can use our brains to invent terrible things like factory farming.
Wild animals do not wear clothing. They don’t use electricity, or sleep in beds, or drive cars, or do any of the thousand things that humans do and animals don’t.

some animals need meat more than we do, some need it less, or not at all
and why would anyone preach to an animal?
you dont see why i should make my own choice in what i eat?
i dont think its "terrible" i just dont take part in it

It is basic science really. Humans have a few things which most animals do not.
First, our bodies produce the natural enzymes to break down both plant and animal proteins. Many animals do not. This means, we have a choice. We are equally equipped to eat both plant and animal matter. If you have ever had a cat, you know what happens when the go loco for grass, they vomit. This is because their bodies cannot digest plant matter properly.
Second, we have the ability to farm and grow a variety of foods to meet our dietary needs. We do not need to rely upon a single source of nutrition like many wild animals, so we can very effectively grow what we need to thrive.
Third, the predator prey relationship keeps the ecosystem in balance. We fit outside this as we do not hunt, we raise animals for the exclusive purpose of eating them. This practice does not fit into the natural food chain. When we do hunt and fish we have a tendency to overdo it creating endangered species and destroyed habitats.
