I have to do an african animal project

They are African animals, but also live in other areas of the Pacific Ocean, the Red Sea, and the Indian Ocean Here is a cite which might help you with your project.

   No marine creature is considered a part of any country or continent, even if it is only found in the waters around a specific country or continent (not the case with a dugong*).

   * note the correct spelling
